As I sit here on this Saturday morning drinking coffee and petting the dogs I can’t help but think about you.

I know that sounds a little weird, but I’ve been thinking a lot about what’s coming down the road and how prepared we are to tackle whatever comes next.

We’ve all been through a lot of disruption and frankly, it’s getting exhausting. But, I don’t think it’s going to slow down. In fact, given the conversations I’ve been having with leaders, innovators, and doers around the world, it’s clear that there’s more uncertainty and complexity to come.

While I can’t slow down the pace of change, I can give you two small pieces of advice:

#1 Enjoy the slow moments. Sitting here drinking coffee and petting dogs helps me rejuvenate and fill up my energy tank when it gets depleted after an intense week. Whatever it is that works for you, do it! In order to be our best we need those slow moments. Meditate, take a hike, sit in silence, sit in the sun….

Cherish them. Make time for them. Know those moments are as important as the high-energy, push forward with all your might moments.

#2 Future ready yourself. Make sure you equip yourself with the mindset and skills to tackle whatever comes your way with more ease and velocity. I created this infographic for you to get the ball rolling. We have a team quiz for those of you worried about your team being able to handle what’s to come. For now, on this sunny Saturday, I want you thinking about how to set yourself up for the most success possible.

Remember, being “Future Ready” is your ability to anticipateadapt, and respond proactively to change and complexity, the agility to innovate, the capacity for strategic foresight, and the resilience to withstand and thrive amidst uncertainty and disruption
